General School Rules

  • Observance of the following is compulsory for all students and deviations will lead to disciplinary action:
  • Students must wear their Identity cards during school hours.
  • Students who come to school by their own conveyance should reach school five minutes before the bell rings.
  • The school unform worn by the students should be immaculate, clean and should be worn on all working days.
  • In winters , school jacket is compulsory.
  • Boys should have neatly trimmed hair and girls should either have short hair /hair tied in plaits.

  • Special care must be taken of all the school property. Do not litter and use garbage bins. Do not scratch or spoil the desks ,chairs and charts paper or damage the school furniture .
  • Students are expected to carry books and notebooks in strict accordance with the time table and refrain from bringing unnecessary material to school.
  • Students are prohibited from bringing any storage devices like floppies, pen drives, i-pods, i-pads or Tablets, not relevant to academic pursuits.
  • Bringing mobile phones, cameras, expensive pens, pencils, fancy pencil-box,etc, to school is not permitted.
  • In the interest of their own security, students are advised not to buy or receive any articles, gifts or foodstuffs from anyone at all en route.
  • Exploding crackers on any occasion or splashing colours during Holi in the school premises or in the school bus is strictly forbidden.
  • The school is committed to protecting the environment and expects its students to be environment friendly in all their actions. The use of polybags (plastic bags) is, therefore, prohibited in the school and students should consciously avoid their use for any purpose.
  • Students from classes VI - XII should refrain from the celebration of their birthdays in school, by distributing invitation cards or gifts although, they can distribute only sweets or chocolates. Students up to class V are allowed to wear colorful dress on their birthdays.
  • Students from class IV onwards are permitted to wear watches.
  • Students are strictly prohibited from commuting to school on cycles or self-driven two/four-wheelers. Any violation of this rule will result in disciplinary action .
  • In case a student misses out to bring tiffin to school, the parents are requested not to bring the tiffin to school themselves or send it through someone. Instead, they should intimate the same to School office before it is time for recess.
  • Students must move in an orderly manner while they are moving from one place to another in the school premises.
  • Students are allowed to use the school canteen during the break time only.
  • Students should observe polite standards wherever they go .They should remember that the school is judged by their conduct.They should greet their teachers when they meet them. Bullying and using foul language is prohibited and punishable as per the school rules.

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

  • A student is required to inform the school authorities in case he/she is absent for more than 2 days.
  • When the child reports to school after absenteeism, he /she is required to submit a leave application , an email or an almanac note stating the reason of absence.
  • In case of absence for more than two days on medical grounds, Medical Certificate and Prescription (photocopies) should be attached along with application.
  • There is no provision for half-day leave, therefore students who are not well should not be sent to school even on the days of assessments. The child will be marked absent if he/she were to be taken home by parents/guardians/ authorised persons during schools hours, even if it were to be an assessment day.
  • A student, returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor’s fitness certificate permitting her/ him to attend school. Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to school. However, the exact period of quarantine will depend upon the severity of the infection which should be confirmed by a certified medical practitioner.

MI ROOM :

  • A well equipped MI Room is available in school with a fully trained nurse and a visiting doctor everyday.
  • The school has tie up with best hospitals around the school in case a child is requiring more medical attention.
  • Biannual medical check ups are done for the students which ensures good physical and dental health of the students.
  • Students who require medical attention during school hours are sent to the school’s MI Room by the teacher concerned.
  • Parents are promptly informed in the event of serious illness or emergencyand may be requested to come to school to take their ward home, if necessary.

LATE ARRIVAL IN SCHOOL

  • Students are expected to reach school 10 minutes before the start of the school. Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school premises without a plausible explanation.

SCHOOL UNIFORM RULES

  • Students must wear their uniform with pride and ensure that they look neat, tidy and presentable at all times.
  • I-Card for all and hair band for girls are an integral part of the uniform and must be worn at all times.
  • A student must always come to school in neat and clean uniform, also duringthe practical and special classes.
  • Students are required to attend all school functions/activities, Open House, PTM in or outside the school in school uniform only.
  • Students who are not in complete/neat and tidy uniform can be debarred from boarding the bus/entering the school.
  • Students are not supposed to wear House Uniform on days of examination, Open House or any scholastic/co-scholastic event.
  • School Belt is mandatory for all students. Each student is supposed to carry a clean, ironed, white handkerchief to school every single day without fail. Repeated offence in this regard will incur disciplinary action.
  • Students who wear spectacles must ensure that the frame is black in colour. Coloured and/or fancy frames will be confiscated. However, coloured frames are allowed for students of classes I-II.

The length of shorts should be 1” above the knee.

The length of skirts should be 2” below the knee.

  • Bloomers (with elastic on thighs) are compulsory for girls from classes I to II. Under Skirts are mandatory for girls from classes IV to X.
  • It is mandatory for girls to wear stockings with their winter uniform.
  • Students are required to wear shirts and tunics/skirts/trousers as per the design specifications of the prescribed uniform supplied by the books and uniform.
  • Students are required to wear shoes provided by the school books and uniform.
  • Girls are not allowed to apply henna on their hands. They are not allowed to wear earrings or rings on fingers or nose rings. However, a pair of small ear studs is permitted.
  • Girls with long hair should plait their hair. It is mandatory for girls to wear hair bands in the school campus, inside the bus as well as outside the school campus while representing the school. Failure to follow the rule will result in suspension from school. Colouring or bleaching of hair is not permitted.
  • Boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals and ensure that it remains combed and tidy.
  • Ornaments of any kind, including bracelets, nose pins, rings on fingers, or elaborate earrings/ear studs of precious metal/jewels are not allowed, even for religious reasons. The only exception for girls is a pair of small ear studs.
  • Violation of this rule will result in confiscation and/or suspension.

SCHOOL LIBRARY RULES

  • All students of the school are members of the library.
  • A student can borrow only one book at a time for a period of two weeks.
  • Books will be issued to the students, during the library periods. No book will be issued or returned during the teaching hours.
  • Marking, underlining or writing on library books is strictly forbidden.
  • Reference books and current periodicals will not be issued to any student. These can be read only in the library room.
  • If the books are not returned within a specified time it will be viewed seriously and fine will be charged as per rules.
  • The librarian may call for a book at any time, even if the normal period of loan has not expired.
  • In case of book is misused, wrongly handled or lost the person concerned will have to replace the book or pay the full price of the book.
  • A ‘No Dues Certificate’ by each student is to be obtained from the librarian while withdrawing any student from the school.
  • Strict order and silence shall be maintained in the library.
  • Issue of books for home use – Each student would be issued two books at a time for a period of one week. Staff members would be issued maximum five books at a time for a maximum period of one fortnight.
  • Reissue of books by a user may be allowed maximum twice more after first issue.
  • Newly purchased books should not be issued to any user for at least one month but will be displayed separately as new arrivals.
  • Issue of subject reference books – Only subject reference books from reference section would be issued for home use on those days when the successive day is a holiday. The book will have to be returned on the next working day. Dictionaries, Encyclopedias etc would not be issued.
  • In case a user loses a book he/she would have to either replace the book or deposit three times the price of the book in the library.

DISCIPLINARY MEASURES

The following disciplinary measures may be adopted by the school in dealing with students behaving in an unruly manner–

  • Oral warning and counseling.
  • Written warning.
  • Detention during the break, or for the whole day.
  • Suspension (ranging from 7 days to 30 days).
  • Withdrawal of transport facility for misbehavior in the school bus. In such cases, parents will be responsible for their ward’s to commute to school.
  • It is expected from each and every STUDENT that they maintain a very cordial relation with the teaching/nonteaching/housekeeping/transport staff of the school. Students are not expected to get into arguments with the staff.
  • In case of complaints , they must approach the Head of School.
  • Misbehaving in class with peers/teachers may result in disciplinary action.
  • Students found in possession of i-pods, cameras, mobile phones will lead to heavy fine apart from suspension from school for a week.
  • Students are not allowed to bring any weapons or sharp instruments, such as blades, knives, paper-scalpels, scissors etc., to school.
  • Students are forbidden from bringing any cosmetics, combs, perfumes, deodorants,etc., to school.
